What Does a Civil Celebrant Do?

A civil celebrant designs and delivers personalised, non-religious ceremonies for life’s key moments — weddings, commitment ceremonies, naming days, vow renewals and funerals. Unlike registrars, celebrants aren’t restricted to a legal script: you’ll help families and couples create a ceremony that reflects their own story, values and personality.

With demand for bespoke, non-religious ceremonies continuing to grow across the UK, civil celebrancy offers a genuinely flexible self-employed career — you set your own hours, work in your local area (or further afield), and build a business around your own creative and interpersonal skills.
