Welcome to the School of Civil Celebrancy and to life as a learner within our community.

All learners are encouraged to fully read and sign the Learners’ Charter, enrolment declaration and learners’ agreement so that they know what they can expect at the School of Civil Celebrancy and what is expected of them.

We wish you every success in your studies and hope that you have a wonderful learners’ experience here at the School of Civil Celebrancy.

Our Learners’ Charter

The School of Civil Celebrancy is committed to supporting the experience of our learners as they work towards fulfilling their academic and personal potential.

The Learners’ Charter is a living reference point for our learners and team setting out our expectations, rights and responsibilities as members of the School of Civil Celebrancy community. It gives an overview of how we work together to establish and maintain our unique learning and living culture. Our Learners’ Charter has been jointly developed by the School of Civil Celebrancy and Learners’ experiences; whereby the School of Civil Celebrancy works in partnership with learners on the continual implementation and development of the Learners’ Charter and the learners’ voice.

We work within a set of regulations, policies, terms and conditions and guidelines that determine how we operate. These ensure we follow best practice and meet our legal requirements in a range of key areas.

As a learner of the School of Civil Celebrancy, you are among individuals whom have studied on our programmes. Together with our accreditors, we offer access to high quality education that meets the needs of the complementary sector.

Our learners’ charter has been developed by the School of Civil Celebrancy from learners’ experiences and the voice of the learners. Setting out what we expect from one another in a partnership.

We believe that clear, mutual expectations will help to improve the quality of your student experience with us and ensure we focus on further enhancements.

Engagement

As a provider, we will:

  • Provide all information required for you to complete your programme of study.
  • Provide you with the learning materials and resources that allow you to engage successfully with your studies.
  • Provide opportunities for peer interaction.

 

As a learner, you will:

  • Take responsibility for your own learning, pursue your studies with a positive commitment and do your best.
  • Actively participate in any required learning activities and assessments for your programme.

 

Support

As a provider, we will:

  • Provide clear information concerning the level of academic support you will receive.
  • Take all reasonable measures to provide appropriate support where disabilities and/or access requirements may inhibit your learning.
  • Provide you with access to online resources required for study, the learners portal and online downloadable manuals.
  • Give you opportunities to provide feedback on the quality of our programmes and services.
  • Provide you with appropriate channels to voice any concerns you have throughout the course of your study.
  • Treat any complaints seriously and fairly, and respect confidentiality always.

 

As a learner, you will:

  • Inform us in good time of any access requirement so that we can consider how to meet your needs.
  • Seek advice if you are unhappy with any aspect of your qualification.

 

Responsibilities

As a provider, we will:

  • Provide you with points of contact in case you have questions or need advice.
  • Ensure that assessment methods are appropriate and provide you with the opportunity to achieve the learning outcomes of your programme.
  • Provide a robust assessment system using suitable examiners, appointed by the School of Civil Celebrancy.
  • Publish assessment timetables before the assessment period is due to start.
  • Provide you with information on what is inappropriate and may constitute an assessment offence, for example, plagiarism and cheating in examinations, how to avoid it and the consequences of assessment offences.
  • Make all rules and regulations relating to your programme of study available to you, including those associated with assessments.
  • Provide you with your assessment results.
  • Evaluate the quality and standards offered to you at the School of Civil Celebrancy, as set out in the accreditation Framework.

 

As a learner, you will:

  • Pay the required fees by the published deadlines.
  • Be responsible for managing your time so that you submit work by the stipulated deadlines to avoid any penalties or delays to your progression.
  • Follow any advice given in your programme information including, but not limited to, methods of academic writing, good practice of referencing and how to avoid plagiarism.
  • Ensure that you understand and comply with all rules and regulations relating to your programme of study, including procedures regarding your assessment.
  • Comply with any expectations and procedures set by the School of Civil Celebrancy, as applicable.
  • Comply with the learners’ agreement to which you have signed into.

 

Respect

As a provider, we will:

  • Be courteous and respectful in our interactions with you on all platforms.
  • Provide equality of treatment for all regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
  • Respect your right to confidentiality.
  • Protect all the personal information you provide to us and be aware of all responsibilities in line with the Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Equality Acts.

 

As a learner, you will:

  • Be courteous and respectful in your interactions with the School of Civil Celebrancy team on all platforms.
  • Be considerate and respectful to our diverse community of learners, including the language you other relevant online platforms including social media.
  • Behave in an appropriate manner when undergoing assessments and comply with all assessment rules.

 

Keeping in touch

As a provider, we will:

  • Keep you informed of any updates and changes that affect your programme of study.

 

As a learner, you will:

  • Check regularly for correspondence from the School of Civil Celebrancy which is being sent to you via email, or on your learners’ portal.

The School of Civil Celebrancy Regulations

I hereby acknowledge that as a learner of the School of Civil Celebrancy I am bound by all the requirements which relate to me as a learner in force under the Learners Charter, Terms and Conditions, Learners’ Agreement, Policies and Regulations of the School of Civil Celebrancy as amended from time to time. I understand that these include the requirement that all outstanding academic debts to the School of Civil Celebrancy are paid by the agreed schedule before an award/certification can be confirmed and that for serious breaches of regulations the penalties may include termination of enrolment.

Statement of Policy regarding the Data Protection Act 2018

I understand that the School of Civil Celebrancy processes my personal information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), Data Protection Act 2018 (UK) as applicable, in the circumstances described below:

As a general principle, information collected about learners will be stored as part of the School of Civil Celebrancy records only for as long as it is needed and used only for achieving the purposes for which it was collected. It is used to support the School of Civil Celebrancy central and legitimate activities (mainly teaching and research, administration, and health and safety). It is also used to support the internal procedures that underpin those activities (e.g. admitting, enrolling, monitoring, assessing and examining learners, compiling records and statistics, business intelligence and research to support the learners experience, administering tuition fees and administering certification. Information may also be collected and stored as required by, and in the manner prescribed by, law. The information collected will be sufficient but no more than is necessary for achieving these purposes, including compliance with the relevant law.

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller is The School of Civil Celebrancy. The School of Civil Celebrancy will endeavour to ensure that any personal information processed by it is as accurate as possible, kept up to date, and safeguarded from unauthorised disclosure.

The School of Civil Celebrancy may legitimately disclose certain types of personal information to external third parties in certain appropriate circumstances to comply with its legal and regulatory obligations.

For example, these include to examination boards; to verify any qualifications relied on, in references to prospective employers or to another school or university.

Data Protection Policy information

I understand that the School of Civil Celebrancy Data Protection Policy applies to all learners who process personal information on behalf of The School of Civil Celebrancy, and the Policy sets out the standards expected by the School of Civil Celebrancy in relation to the processing of personal information and safeguarding individuals’ rights and freedoms. As a learner of the school, I understand that I should only process personal information for an academic or related purpose to the School of Civil Celebrancy, with the knowledge and express consent of an appropriate the School of Civil Celebrancy employee. My processing of personal information should be limited to the minimum consistent with the achievement of academic objectives. I also understand that I may be asked to demonstrate compliance with its obligations if required under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Sharing Assessment information

I understand that the School of Civil Celebrancy may make available any piece of assessment work that I may undertake as a requirement of my programme of study to third parties where this is necessary for the conduct of proper academic business and quality assurance. This may include assessed items being stored by third parties and further reproduced to assess work submitted at a later date. Assessment items submitted may also be reproduced for comparison against work submitted by other institutes.

Sharing Disability information

It is the School of Civil Celebrancy policy to obtain your specific consent where you wish to disclose a disability or specific learning difficulty to the School of Civil Celebrancy. This is to enable the School of Civil Celebrancy to meet those support needs.

Satisfying admissions and assessment conditions

This enrolment is subject to me satisfying any outstanding requirements resulting from the admissions process, previous assessment, or any other stipulations required by my programme of study.

The charter is a reference point for learners and the School of Civil Celebrancy team to consider the nature of the rights and responsibilities of all those included within the School of Civil Celebrancy community. Giving an overview of how we work together to establish and maintain our unique learning and living culture. Our Learners’ Charter has been jointly developed by learners and their feedback.

My responsibilities:

After I have enrolled I accept that it is my responsibility to abide by the Learners Charter, Learners’ Agreement, Terms and Conditions, Policies and Regulations of the School of Civil Celebrancy, including but not limited to those for Academic Integrity.

The School of Civil Celebrancy Regulations & Policies

To check regularly the School of Civil Celebrancy policies, my learners portal and the email account I have provided as important information regarding my programme of study, tuition fees will be sent via these mediums.

Your right to cancel the contract.

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days of enrolment without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days of making the contract. Full details of your cancellation rights are given in your Terms & Conditions which you will receive as an acknowledgement of your enrolment.

I understand that, by confirming below, fees become due, and I agree to pay my fees in accordance with the school’s fee payment policy.

The School of Civil Celebrancy Learners’ Agreement for Level 3 Qualifications

Please read the following and sign the box on the final page to confirm you have read, understood, and accept the Learners’ Agreement.

The School of Civil Celebrancy are committed to continually improving the quality of our courses. As well as what you can expect from us, this agreement also explains what the School of Civil Celebrancy expects of you. The quality of the services that we believe you are entitled to be balanced with responsibilities placed on you.

When studying at the School of Civil Celebrancy this is what you can expect from us:

  • To receive course notes which will provide you with information about the School of Civil Celebrancy.
  • An appraisal of the course syllabus showing key stages and criteria for examination.
  • That we will work with you to help you develop your learning skills, recognising that this is an on-going process.
  • That we will provide a quality learning environment.
  • That we will support you in your learning, to help you complete your studies.
  • That assessment team will be courteous, professional, punctual and efficient.
  • That we will answer all communication received as quickly as we can.
  • That we will mark all course work within the time frame given within the learners’ portal.
  • That we will seek to create and maintain an atmosphere and environment which is conducive to learning.
  • That we will respect your right to confidentiality.
  • That we will comply with all relevant legislation.

 

What we expect of you:

To be knowledgeable and regularly familiar with the Learners’ Charter.

The Learners’ Charter is a reference point for our learners and team setting out our expectations, rights and responsibilities as members of the School of Civil Celebrancy community. It gives an overview of how we work together to establish and maintain our unique learning and living culture. Our Learners’ Charter has been jointly developed by the School of Civil Celebrancy and learners experiences whereby the School of Civil Celebrancy work in partnership with learners on the implementation of the Learners’ Charter and the learners’ voice.

The Learner’s Charter is a live information base that supports independent learning and gives appropriate guidance.

  • That you are familiar with the student enrolment declaration.
  • That you will take responsibility for your own learning, understanding that it is an independent framework and assist in creating and maintaining an atmosphere and environment which is conducive to learning for all.
  • If you require any help with learning, this needs to be declared. If you have an Educational Report Statement or an Educational Health Care Report/Plan, outlining your learning needs, this needs to be submitted to the School of Civil Celebrancy as soon as possible, so that the relevant help and support can be discussed and put in place. If we are not able to facilitate your requirements, we will work with you to help try to find a suitable training school which will be able to facilitate your requirements.
  • That you take responsibility for seeking any support you need.
  • That you will be courteous, efficient and behave in a professional manner towards the assessment team.
  • That you will pay all fees and charges due when required.
  • Please also note that if you fail to log in to the system for 60 days, the system automatically removes you, and all uploaded work and grades will be deleted. It is the learners’ responsibility to log in and keep the system updated, not the School of Civil Celebrancy. The School of Civil Celebrancy will not be responsible for work which is lost or deleted.

 

Additional Points

The School of Civil Celebrancy will not chase learners for coursework, this is the learner’s responsibility to timetable and schedule work. It is an independent learning structure and personal responsibility. Please read the welcome letter which can be found within the portfolio system for your course regarding penalties for the late surrender of coursework.

Answer all correspondence from the School of Civil Celebrancy regarding the course and supply information required on time.

Lost coursework is the reasonability of the learner, not the School of Civil Celebrancy.

I can confirm that I have read or have seen the School of Civil Celebrancy Policies relating to the School of Civil Celebrancy Learner Charter.

Course Timeframe – 6 months duration – All online courses must be completed within 6 months of course allocation; this includes the final assessment. If you require additional time to complete your course, an extension will only be granted on medical grounds, and medical documentation will be required. The course can then only be extended by a further two months to a total of 12 months from the course start date. There will be a £60 administration fee for extending your course. You must apply via email to bookings@thechoolofcivilcelbrancy.co.uk for an extension. Please note that the School of Civil Celebrancy Learners’ Portal closes at 17hrs on the day of completion day. After this time, you will not be able to access the course.

Course Timeframe – 10 months duration – All online courses must be completed within 10 months of course allocation; this includes the final assessment. If you require additional time to complete your course, an extension will only be granted on medical grounds, and medical documentation will be required. The course can then only be extended by a further two months to a total of 12 months from the course start date. There will be a £60 administration fee for extending your course. You must apply via email to bookings@thechoolofcivilcelbrancy.co.uk for an extension. Please note that the School of Civil Celebrancy Learners’ Portal closes at 17hrs on the day of completion day.
