The School of Civil Celebrancy does not require learners to have completed basic celebrant training before booking onto all courses.
Some courses may have specific entry requirements, depending on the level of qualification, the course pathway chosen, and the knowledge or experience needed to complete the course successfully.
If you are booking onto the NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Civil Celebrancy, no previous celebrant training is required.
Diploma-level qualifications do not require previous celebrancy experience. However, it is important that learners understand that a diploma is an in-depth qualification and will require a significant amount of time, commitment, study and coursework.
Basic celebrancy training is only required if you are taking the Introductory Course to Diploma Pathway.
It is the learner’s responsibility to make sure they are booking onto the correct course and that they have chosen the right pathway for their current level of knowledge, confidence and availability.
If you choose to take an introductory course before progressing onto one of our diploma qualifications, please be aware that it is not the responsibility of The School of Civil Celebrancy to teach you basic celebrancy as part of the diploma course.
The diploma courses are designed for learners who are ready to progress their skills, knowledge and professional practice to diploma level.
We strongly recommend that learners complete the NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Civil Celebrancy before progressing onto a diploma qualification.
If you have completed training with another provider, we recommend that your previous celebrancy training included at least 120 guided learning hours, or as a minimum:
It is the learner’s responsibility to make sure that they have the required basic knowledge, understanding and practical awareness before booking onto a diploma-level course.
The School of Civil Celebrancy cannot be held responsible if a learner books onto a diploma course without the foundation knowledge or availability needed to complete the qualification.
You will receive an email confirmation within three working days.
This email will be sent from bookings@theschoolofcivilcelebrancy.co.uk.

If you book a course by calling The School of Civil Celebrancy office, the confirmation email will contain a Learner Information Form. This must be completed and returned before your course begins.
If you book online, the Learner Information Form is completed at the time of checkout.
It is very important that all information you provide is complete and correct.
If you require any support with learning, this must be declared on the form.
If you have an Educational Report, Statement, Educational Health Care Report, or Educational Health Care Plan outlining your learning needs, this must be submitted before starting the course.
This allows us to discuss any relevant support and put suitable arrangements in place where possible.
If we are not able to facilitate your requirements, we will work with you to help try to find a suitable training school that may be able to support your needs.

The funding agency may then recoup the funds paid.
It is the responsibility of the learner to repay any funds to the funding agency. This is not the responsibility of The School of Civil Celebrancy.

The PayPal Credit agreement is between the learner and PayPal. It has no association with The School of Civil Celebrancy.
The School of Civil Celebrancy terms and conditions will not be altered, affected, or amended in any way if PayPal Credit is used as the chosen payment method.
If a payment plan is arranged between The School of Civil Celebrancy and the learner, this will be at 0% interest.
The payment plan must be set up at the time of paying the deposit. It cannot be set up once the course has been confirmed.
An invoice will be sent to you on the 1st of each month for the agreed amount. This must be paid within 7 days.
A loan agreement between The School of Civil Celebrancy Ltd and the learner must be signed.
Attached to this loan agreement will be a copy of all invoices and a breakdown of which invoice needs to be paid on which date.
Proof of address must be supplied when returning the loan agreement. This can be a copy of a driving licence or a recent utility bill.
Apart from sending your monthly invoice, The School of Civil Celebrancy will not chase you for monthly payments.
Any late payments will be liable for a 20% late payment fee on the whole outstanding course balance.

Where a course includes live Zoom training sessions, learners are expected to attend the full training day.
Unless otherwise confirmed in writing, Zoom training days will open at 9:45 am. This allows learners to log in, check their connection and settle before teaching begins.
Teaching will formally start at 10:00 am and finish at 4:30 pm.
Breaks and comfort breaks will be built into each training day. The tutor will confirm the timing of breaks during the session.
Learners are responsible for making sure they have a suitable device, stable internet connection, working camera and microphone, and a quiet place to take part in the training.
The School of Civil Celebrancy cannot be held responsible for any loss of teaching time caused by a learner’s internet connection, equipment failure, or personal technical issues.
For courses running Monday to Friday, a tutor will be available online each evening from 7:30 pm until 8:30 pm to offer support and guidance.
This evening support is designed to help learners with questions, course understanding, general guidance and confidence during their training week.
Evening tutor support is not designed to replace attendance at the main teaching sessions. It is also not an alternative to completing the required coursework, portfolio work or assessments.
The School of Civil Celebrancy reserves the right to amend evening support times where necessary, but learners will be informed if any change is required.
Learners attending live Zoom training sessions are expected to behave in a professional, respectful and supportive way at all times.

The School of Civil Celebrancy is accredited by NOCN. We follow a three-stage assessment process in line with our accreditation.
Your modules are assessed by a qualified and experienced assessor.
When the assessor has marked your module, you will be advised whether your work has met the criteria.
If your work has not yet met the criteria, you will be given constructive feedback and an action plan to complete within a set timescale.
Once you have completed all modules for your chosen qualification, your work is submitted to our Internal Quality Assurance Officer. This is to ensure your assessment has been fair.
Finally, your full portfolio is submitted to the External Quality Assurer from NOCN before your official certificate is issued.
The external verification process normally takes place once a year. We will let you know when your work is due to be verified.
Providing all stages are satisfactorily completed, NOCN will award your qualification certificate.
Certificates are issued within 8 weeks of the EQA visit.
The timescales set by NOCN are outside the control of The School of Civil Celebrancy.

Please do not chase us to mark your work.

Repeat offenders who upload work without references may be charged £5 per item for marking.

Continuing Education courses use a system called APL, which stands for Accreditation of Prior Learning.
APL can only be used for a maximum of five years from the original completion date of your original Level 3 qualification.
After this time, you will be required to take the full Level 3 qualification and not an APL qualification.
To qualify for APL, your original qualification must be a recognised Level 3 qualification that meets the National Occupational Standard and the Core Curriculum.
The APL certification you submit must clearly show that you have met and passed the learning outcomes required for the specific module being claimed through APL.
The School of Civil Celebrancy will not be responsible for the standard, quality or content taught by your previous training school.
If you are completing a Continuing Education course and your original Level 3 course has not covered the units required to complete the APL course, it will be the learner’s responsibility to pay for the additional modules required to complete the course.
Please note that once a course has been started, an APL claim cannot be made.
All APL claims must be made at the time of booking.
It is the learner’s responsibility to claim APL, not The School of Civil Celebrancy.

Sometimes during a course, we may need to make a change to the content of the course.
This may be due to a change in the National Occupational Standard, a change in course delivery, or because The School of Civil Celebrancy and/or the accreditor feel that an additional module is required to improve the course.
The School of Civil Celebrancy is always looking at ways to improve courses by adding additional skills, knowledge and practical understanding.
